Tranquility, Sun and Sneezing

Summer is here. It's official, we took the kayak's out yesterday and my shoulder is sunburned, so it's officially here regardless of what the calendar tells me.

This summer promises to beat last summer in the face. Last summer I spent the majority of it in breakup upheaval life drama. This summer, we are back together and if we don't say so ourselves, we absolutely rule. This summer I have a man I love, a job I love, a condo I'd love to sell (but am begrudgingly willing to be patient) and extra time off due to that new job I love so much.

Sunday was such a beautiful day, on some beautiful water where we saw wildlife, waterfalls and some of the most breathtaking scenery our state has to offer. As I paddled lazily with the wind at my back I couldn't help just feel so so happy. Things are so awesome right now, I feel so blessed and so excited to see what comes next. I love those times in your life.

The only thing standing in my way is pollen. A-choo! Lordy, the allergy gods have it in for me this year. I have been working on all my regular fixes and nothing is working. I spent a week in Upstate New York with my NY'er and his wonderful crew and thought that I was simply allergic to NY or it's animals, but no, these allergies followed me home and continue to make my face an itchy, runny, sneezy mess. Damn you allergies! I'd love to go au naturale in my attack on this, to play to my inner tree hugger, but I need relief now. Allergra I'm praying for you.

Here's to summer folks. Here's to hiking, bike rides, camping, paddling, shooting, campfires, running, warm summer nights, star gazing between the pine tree tops and modern medicine keeping me from swallowing pine cones just to itch that throat of mine.
